The good people of Shepton Mallet came to our rescue this week, when the Land Rover broke down. We hadn't a clue what was wrong with it, and as it was a Saturday many garages were shut. In deperation I posted a message in the community Facebook group. Within minutes I'd had offers of help. A special thank you to Steve Kirk, who was actually enjoying himself at a Land Rover show, but spent all day answering my questions and offering valuable advice. We haven't quite fixed it, but atleast we know what's wrong. And I learnt words like 'Propshaft' !
With a flight booked from Bristol Airport on Monday- we were still stuck for a lift. Luckily we have the most wonderful kind hearted neighbours Roger & Sylvia Greene. Poor Roger got up at 4am to take us- and even brought us home again the next day. I'd get him a fruit basket to say thanks, but he already grows the best strawberries and pears in town! Parents, if you fancy somewhere different to take the kids. You must try new soft play centre 'The Square' in Wells. It's got three different sections, for varying ages and abilities, plus balance bikes and trikes. They have a wide range of food and drinks, with jugs of squash from £1.50, and hot meals like chicken nuggets, chips and beans from £3.75. There are veggie options, including omelettes and pizzas. Speciality coffees and teas, hot chocolate, slushies and a large selection of homemade fresh cakes and pastries for mum. Check out www.thesquarewells.com for prices and opening times.
