Half term hols are in full swing, and we've had a blast! Last weekend we visited the Helicopter Museum in Weston-Super-Mare for their 'Halloween' themed fun day. All the staff were in fancy dress, even the stewards were Warewolves. There was a brilliant haunted helicopter exhibit, open cockpits, simulators, a fancy dress competition and live music. If you missed it, head on over this Sunday (30th) for another spooky open-cockpit day from 10am. It's all going on in Shepton Mallet too.
A new hair salon has opened on the High Street. 'Hair At Pierre's ' held a fabulous open day, where I gorged myself on posh nibbles and free Prosecco. Owner, Toni Gane has been cutting hair in Shepton Mallet for a long time, most recently as a mobile hairdresser. It's her dream come true to have a salon right on the High Street, and I thought it was really fresh and glamorous inside. I particularly love the wallpaper, and Marilyn Monroe artwork. They're also right next door to the old Wine Vaults pub, which will soon be a Mexican Tapas restaurant – how fabulous. I'm still a bit sad to see Steve's fish bar closing down, we had dinner there last week- and it's the first time the kids have cleared their plates. Pizza's alright, but nowt like a nice Cod and chips. Before Domino's come swooping in though, watch out for a last minute clearance sale- everything will be up for grabs, from the furniture to the fryer!
